FOOD AND CLOTHING PANTRY

Our Food and Clothing Pantry serves the Elmhurst and Corona community’s homeless and low-income residents with hot meals-to-go and weekly deliveries of non-perishable food and fresh produce to those that continue to be food insecure. Nearly two in three children in Elmhurst and Corona live in households in or near poverty and wage earners typically work disproportionately in lower-wage professions mainly in construction and hospitality-related sectors. 62% of Elmhurst and Corona residents are rent burdened, a higher rate than residents citywide. Rent burdened households pay more than 30% of their income for housing and may have difficulty affording food, clothing, transportation and health care. Since the pandemic, many are still unemployed or are working reduced hours.
